Hattie and the Fox
Day one
Before
When we read the story today notice who's in the story and what they 
say.
During
First reading -- teacher read aloud. Record list of characters.
Second reading -- teacher read aloud. Record list of what each 
character 
says.
Each "recording" is done on large chart paper.
After
The after activity is the recording above.

Day two
Before
Review charts from Day one then "when we read the story today join in 
with the parts you know (choral reading)."
During
Teacher read aloud tracking print left to right and allowing students 
to 
join in.
After
Marching sentences strips to the book
(See page 15 in MBM Phonics for First Grade)

Day three
Before
Review characters and their importance then, "today we will act but the 
story after we reread it."
During
Reread aloud chorally
After
Do the book

Day four
Before
"When we read this story today see how it's like Hattie and Fox." Refer 
to chart.
During
Teacher read aloud "Chicken Little" by Steven Kellogg.
After
Chart similarities on paper.

Do the other
